Our History:
Faye's Laundry & Drycleaning has been a
family run business since 1968. In September of that
year, Russ and Faye Cummings bought the existing Norge
Village Laundromat and Dry-cleaner in Layton Utah. The
major draw for the business at that time were the
do-it-yourself dry-cleaning machines that customers
could load with up to 10 pounds of garments for a total
cost of $3.00. For another 50 cents, the customer could
rent the "Jiffy Steamer" to steam the wrinkles out of
her garments. Fortunately, that was the era of 100%
polyester double knit fashions!
Fashions changed and so did our methods
of fabric care. We added professional dry-cleaning
machines and presses, commercial washers and shirt
equipment. We are currently investing in tensioning
presses to keep up with the trend toward more wet
cleaning of your fine fabrics. Advances in soap and
sizing technology have made wet-cleaning not only better
for the environment but also better for many delicate
items.
As we upgraded our equipment mix we also
improved our knowledge of fabric care.. We have passed
the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute certification
tests for dry cleaning fundamentals and environmental
issues and most recently certified in wet-cleaning
techniques. On going training and attention to details
keeps us up-to-date on the best practices of fabric care
and finishing. You can count on our staff of experienced
and highly trained technicians to safely process
everything from your most fashionable outfit to
grandmother's wedding dress
Current owners, Cliff and Sharon Dutcher,

the local area and is our greatest fan. Granddaughter

Environment:
Quality cleaners nationwide are committed to becoming
more environmentally conscious and we at Faye's have
good reason to be proud of our efforts to improve our
environmental performance. Our improved technology, more
efficient machines and safer handling practices are all
aimed at reducing the environmental impact of cleaning
solvents.
Our dry-cleaning machines continuously distill and
filter the solvent, ensuring a fresh, sparkling solution
for every cycle. Spent filters and still residue,
composed mostly of soap, lint and dirt, is picked up and
properly disposed of at a hazardous waste facility.
In addition, we are focusing on advances in wet
cleaning. We are currently using a European formula that
prevents color loss and shrinkage of fine fabrics and is
safe for the environment as well. Our new tensioning
presses and experienced press operators complete the wet
cleaning process.
We also accept metal hangars and poly bags for
recycling.
